"Ransomware Attack: Are You Prepared?"

Presentation Synopsis:

Healthcare organizations are increasingly being targeted by cybercriminals via ransomware attacks. Medical groups need to better understand the full scope of the threat and have a plan to respond both proactively to prevent attacks and reactively in response to post-attack.

Having experienced (aka “survived") a severe ransomware attack, I will describe our 100-provider multispecialty group’s experience, what actions we took and the results. Then we will review a business and operational plan to mitigate the severe threat of a ransomware attack. It is imperative that medical group administrators understand the fully operational, clinical, financial and legal risks posed by ransomware attacks. This presentation will provide such awareness.
