The
Rottman Group has been retained to find a Practice Administrator for U.S.
Oncology in El Paso, TX. This is a
two-location, 8 physician oncology practice that provides both medical and
radiation oncology services. This
practice serves the 700,000 residents of the El Paso service area and currently
has approximately 60-65% of the market share.
This
practice consists of 107 FTEs, sees approximately 20 new patients per day and
has 60%+ of the market share in El Paso. It is believed this could be
increased with proactive relationship development in the medical community.
The physicians get along and work well together. The West location has the
very latest technology and equipment with a new and beautiful physical location.
The East location has all new equipment except for their linear accelerator.
The East location will be renovated in the next year.
This
has been a location that has had positive leadership with two previous
administrators being promoted to regional roles within U.S. Oncology.
However, during the last two years, there have been some leadership changes that
have not worked out as well as hoped for. This has left both operational
and leadership development opportunities. There are opportunities to
capture revenue and develop services such as IMRT (Intensive Modulated Radiation
Therapy).
Reporting to the Administrator is: business office manager, nurse manager, chief
radiation therapist, medical records/IT, two pharmacists, two lab managers, and
two physicists.
The
ideal person will have strong leadership competencies. They will have a
track record of positive practice development of services, revenue, and
personnel.
Within U.S. Oncology there is the opportunity for career development not found
in stand-alone practices. U.S. Oncology is the nations largest
health-care services network devoted exclusively to cancer treatment and
research, and a pioneer in community-based cancer care since 1993.
Currently there is a network of over 850 affiliated physicians who deliver care
to over a half million cancer patients each year, serving more cancer patients
than any other single healthcare organization in America. U.S. Oncology
has over 450 sites of service, including 77 cancer centers in 28 states.
