Daniel P. Stech, MBA is the director of the Medical Group Management Association's Survey Operations Department where he leads the department in producing the most valued sources of medical practice performance data available in the industry. Dan began his career with MGMA in 1995 as state health policy analyst, and served as the main contact for MGMA members in 23 states including Texas regarding issues of health policy and regulation. He authored numerous articles and frequently served as an educational speaker on managed care regulation. From 1997 to 2001, he was director of the MGMA Health Care Consulting Group providing strategic and operational management of the association's national consulting practice. Prior to joining MGMA, Dan was a congressional staffer for seven years and served as legislative director to U.S Representative Earl Hutto of Florida. He served as the chief policy advisor to the congressman and focused on health policy and regulation, Medicare and other social issues. Dan received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS and his Masters of Business Administration from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. He is the son of a rural Kansas family physician.
